POWERUP™ Team Building

Tough times don’t last, tough teams do. It is no secret that team building is imperative to the success of an organisation. Hence, we have formulated a series of highly energetic and interactive programmes customized to realign corporate mission, vision and values.

During the course of team building, participants will be provided with the opportunity to know their colleagues better. Desirably, teams will be charged up positively to achieve breakthrough in their area of work. With guided facilitation, participants will be able to understand the importance of effective communication in a team and be equipped with skills to develop their group effectively to improve productive. We team built some 17,000 volunteers for SEA Games 2015 over 8 months period!

Youth Expedition Project Leaders Training Course (YEP)

YEP has been a key youth development programme of the National Youth Council. It encourages youths between the age of 15 and 35 years to embark on community Service-Learning projects. The objective is to nurture youth volunteers to become an active citizen who is not only confident, but also socially responsible to identify needs and contribute to both local and overseas community.

Positive Intentions Pte Ltd is one of the selected partner appointed by National Youth Council (NYC) to conduct the Leaders Training Course. The NYC-YEP Leaders Training Course (LTC) is a 4-days programme designed to prepare and equip YEP leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to design, lead and implement YEP projects.

These are the key modules that will be covered during the course:

  • Working in a Team
  • Service-Learning (Intro) and Project Management
  • Social Sector Overview and Community Engagement

Functional Modules

  • Expedition Planning and Programme Design
  • Community Development (Partnership Development)
  • Cross-Cultural Learning
  • Facilitation
  • Risk Management

Prospective YEP leaders need to note that:

  1. They should complete the NYC-YEP LTC before submission of a YEP application.
  2. They are advised to attend the NYC-YEP LTC before the overseas reconnaissance trip.
  3. Due to the experiential nature of the NYC-YEP LTC, a minimum number of participants will be required for each session.

Therefore, YEP leaders should apply for the course well in advance in case of any postponement. Certificates will be awarded to those who have successfully completed the LTC (100% attendance is expected) and it will remain valid for 4 years.

The course fee is $750 nett per person. The full sum is claimable after the course, subject to the approval of your YEP grant application. For the most updated course dates or enquiries regarding registration, please contact us through our contact page.

In today’s fast-paced society, people sometimes forget about those who have helped them gotten to where they are. Our home maintenance opportunities allow participants to experience a different perspective as they are provided a platform to interact with and assist the residences who are mostly elderly.

By showing care and appreciation to the people in the society, participants grow to become more gracious and in other aspects of life.

Befriending and Engagement Programmes

Befriending and Engagement Programme

The purpose of beneficiary visits is to provide both Volunteers and Beneficiaries the much-needed social interaction. These visits take participants away from their mundane daily routines and raise their awareness on current social situations and even living conditions of some of our beneficiaries.

Through the experiential learning from such activities, participants will be able to gain a heightened sense of appreciation for what they have in their lives at present.

Volunteer Development Workshop

This workshop is designed to equip volunteers with essential engagement skills to communicate and interact with our partners. Adopting the Service Learning Rules by Robert Sigmon, we provide our volunteers with different perspectives of volunteerism and guide them in achieving a fulfilling volunteering experience for all parties.

VWO Partnerships

Voluntary Welfare Organisations Partnership

Apart from Pro Bono services, we also fund social projects to meet our social bottomline. Merry Marathon is one of the few social projects funded by us to engage our partners from various Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs).

We rallied youths from different institutions to visit our partners during the Christmas season to celebrate with carols, food and presents. This project is well received by many youth as it provides them with the opportunity to give-back during their December break.

Youth Mentorship Programme

The Youth Engagement Programme is an outreach effort that targets youth that is between the ages of 13 and 16. Conceptualized with various Police Divisions, the objectives are to mold the behavior and attitudes of youth through experiential activities. In doing so, we aim to steer them from crime, deter offending and reduce the arrests from secondary schools.

There are five phases to our programme – Camp EVO, various experiential activities such as paintball and dragon boating, round-up camp, graduation ceremony and mentoring and training workshops for family members of our participants.

Other Volunteering Platforms

Apart from volunteering possibilities with our partners, we also initiate different platforms when a situation calls for it. This enables us to expose our volunteers to different perspectives.

Examples include gathering our team of enthusiastic volunteers to support and cheer fervently for Team Singapore during the Sea Games 2015, as well as activating our volunteers to assist operationally during the passing of the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
